How Business Sheffield Helped Olga and Asquith Diversify Their Product Range

When Olga & Asquith Products Ltd launched about five years ago, they had one clear passion: sharing beloved family recipes with the world.

Co-founder Angelina Cummings began her business journey with Business Sheffield by attending our beginner workshops, followed by a food hygiene course to help build strong foundations. With this support, she developed the company’s now-signature creations: Jasmine’s Jamaican Rum Cake and Jasmine's Vegan Ginger Cake.

What began as baking for friends quickly turned into a thriving business filling a gap in the market for authentic, luxurious Caribbean cakes that could be enjoyed anytime.

Recently, Angelina met with one of our business advisors, Sean Clarke. That meeting sparked a bold new idea: what if the flavours of her famous rum cake could be turned into a drink?

With our support, Angelina was introduced to Newstead Brewery and together, they created a stout inspired by Jasmine’s Jamaican Rum Cake. The result? The Jasmine Jamaican Rum Stout. A true fusion of creativity, collaboration, and Caribbean heritage.
