Sheffield Heritage Open Days 2025

12 Sep 2025 - 21 Sep 2025

Sheffield’s biggest festival of heritage and culture takes place between 12 - 21 September with over 100 FREE tours, walks, exhibitions and events.

Sheffield's Heritage Open Days are part of the nationwide festival that takes place over 10 days each September, as volunteers across England organise events to celebrate our fantastic history and culture.

Each year thousands of people from across the city and visitors from further afield enjoy exploring a wide and varied selection of places to visit and things to do, often in unusual locations or at places which are usually not open to the public.

This year’s theme is 'Routes-Networks-Connections' celebrating how people and ideas have moved around and come together throughout history.

Many of this year’s Sheffield events have embraced this theme and are certain to give visitors a fascinating insight into the many and diverse physical and cultural networks which connect our local communities to our history and heritage
