Women of Steel monument

Women of Steel is a bronze sculpture commissioned by Sheffield City Council to commemorate the women of Sheffield who worked in the city's steel industry during the First and Second World War. It was created by Martin Jennings, and unveiled in June 2016 at an event attended by 100 women who worked in the steelworks.

Blacka Moor - deer & moorland in the city

The moorland in and around south-western Sheffield acts as a link between the city itself and the wider Peak District National Park. Much of this vast space, that lies within the city boundary, is in public or charitable ownership and as such is accessible and well-maintained and has vast species of flora and fauna, including red deer.

Bochum 75th Anniversary Exhibition

Sheffield Central Library will be hosting an exhibition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the twinning of Sheffield and the German city of Bochum. The exhibition will showcase the civic relationship between Sheffield City Council and Stadt Bochum, as well as the importance of grassroots and community links between organisations in both cities.
