Indie scene in Abbeydale Road & Nether Edge
Also known as the Sheffield Antiques Quarter, namely because of the likes of Sheffield Antiques Centre, Sheffield Antiques Emporium and Heeley Bank Antiques Centre, the area along and around Abbeydale Road houses a diverse selection of quirky independents.
Alongside the many bars, restaurants and cafes, (and inside some of them too) you’ll also find some great shops. Coles Corner is both record shop and café-bar, while Two Thirds doubles as bar and bottle shop, and Italian specialists Bragazzis offer cafe, delicatessen, and shop.
Forge Bakehouse isn't just one of the area's best brunch destinations, you can also pick up an array of homemade pastries and bakery goods. Gravelpit Homeware, Turner’s Bottle Shop, and Frippery & Nonsense are just a handful of the other quirky shops nearby.
If you feel like extending a retail wander, head up into leafy Nether Edge nearby, where you'll find shops like Zeds Wholefoods and Wickwire, plus neighbourhood bistro Bench also doubles as wine shop, with a well-researched selection of bottles for the perfect tipple.
A little further away, but still near enough to walk, Chesterfield Road is also home to plentiful independents, such as record store Spinning Discs, model shop Rails of Sheffield and long established Sheffield furniture store, Ponsfords.
