It’s no longer about the big beating the small, but the fast beating the slow. And Razor are certainly at the front of the pack when it comes to digital transformation in the North.

Recognised in the 2021 FT1000: Europe’s Fast Growing Companies list, published by the Financial Times and Statista, Razor has grown exponentially over the last few years, with 39 staff and an annual revenue of £2.5 million.

The team’s made up of useability experts, testers, software engineers, data experts, data scientists, and project managers. Together they offer bespoke tech solutions across UX, data analytics, software development, mobile and web apps, as well as consultancy – with clients including Virgin Trains East Coast, Age UK Islington, and Westfield Health.

But they have a cause much bigger than themselves…

Born and raised in Sheffield, founder Jamie Hinton knew it’s where he wanted to set up shop; it’s where his heart lies. Proud of Sheffield’s steel heritage, Hinton and team want to build on the city’s manufacturing ingenuity to make a name for the area in digital manufacturing.

Hinton believes you shouldn’t have to travel far and wide for opportunities. He wants to create a solid future for the people of Sheffield and their families – and in doing so, forge a strong and sustainable future for the North.
