The Crucible and Lyceum Theatres, in Tudor Square in Sheffield, at dusk. Both buildings are well lit and look cheerful and inviting.

Crucible Theatre

Originally opened in 1971, the Crucible is a world-famous theatre and iconic Sheffield landmark, with a distinctive stage.

Home to world-class productions and ground-breaking theatre, made right here in Sheffield, the Crucible's epic stage is surrounded by seats on three sides, meaning you’re never more than 20 metres from the action.

A melting pot for stories old and new; be captivated by a classic drama or be amongst the first to witness the next big thing. High drama or high kicks, it’s an experience like no other.
