The Millennium Gallery is Sheffield’s premier destination for art, craft and design and one of the most visited FREE attractions in England.
Here you can see some of Sheffield’s unique heritage, including the metalwork which made the city world-famous, alongside contemporary art and design exhibitions.
The Museum houses two permanent exhibitions. The Sykes Gallery is home to the Metalwork Collection, one of the finest in the world containing some 13,000 items and thought to be the most extensive grouping of Sheffield-made cutlery, flatware (forks and spoons) and holloware (bowls, teapots, containers) in existence.
The Guild of St George’s Ruskin Collection celebrates the visionary ideas of the Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin. The collection features the manuscripts, minerals, watercolours and drawings Ruskin amassed and gifted to the people of Sheffield in the 1870s, to reveal connections between nature and art.
As well as being home to the city's unique Ruskin and Metalwork Collections, the Millennium Gallery hosts some of the finest touring exhibitions in the country, from partners including the V&A, Tate and National Portrait Gallery.

The museum provides a walk-through directly into Sheffield Winter Garden and there is a fantastic Gift Shop on site, with a great range of Sheffield-made products, art prints, jewellery, craft and more.
Food and drink is not permitted in the galleries, but Ambulo is the dedicated gallery café, with indoor and outdoor seating, where you can enjoy light bites and seasonal dishes made fresh on site.
The museum is operated by Sheffield Museums Trust, an independent charity that operates six of the city’s leading museums and heritage sites.
