Creative Textiles Exhibition

Visit Sheffield Cathedral this summer for a special exhibition of creative textile work by Christine, winner of the 2025 Newgate Volunteer of the Year Award and long-standing volunteer at the Cathedral.

This unique display will bring together pieces from across Christine’s lifetime — from her student days to her most recent work — offering a glimpse into the artistry, care, and quiet passion behind her craft.

The exhibition explores two personal and creative themes through textiles, sketches, clothing, and samples:

• Sheffield Cathedral – the sacred space Christine has lovingly served for over six years
• The Cactus Garden at Sheffield Botanical Gardens – a favourite spot that continues to inspire her work

Christine’s warmth, dedication, and extraordinary attention to detail have long enriched life behind the scenes at the Cathedral. Now, for the first time, visitors can step into her world and see the stories woven through her needle and thread.
