Matthew Malek

Lecturer in Experimental Particle Physics at the University of Sheffield

Matthew arrived in Sheffield in 2015 and immediately enlisted the help of the Sheffield Ambassador Programme with his co-organisation of the Identification of Dark Matter Conference, which came to the city the following year. He found the programme so ‘amazingly helpful’ that he decided to organise a national conference for the Institute of Physics, too. He sees Sheffield as a hidden gem that conferences help people to discover, fall in love with and come back to.
