Commissioned alongside his year-long exhibition in Weston Park Museum, this is Pete McKee's first foray into the world of augmented reality, and the final installation as part of the government grant funding that has brought Look Up to life across the city (if you didn't know, there are 5 more from other Sheffield artists, so please explore in the free app and click here for more info). It's also the first Look Up piece to span two rooftops, so Sheffield Children's Hospital are also part of this amazing collaboration.
The exhibition, titled The Boy with a Leg Named Brian is a deep dive into Pete's nostalgia and growing up in Sheffield, so it felt like a great opportunity to celebrate the football history of the city with some new characters, a dash of retro music, and a nod to the 'Soccer Kid' hit computer game developed by Sheffield based ex-Gremlins Tony Kavanagh, Peter Harrap and Shaun Hollingworth as Krisalis Software.

Look Up background information
Look Up was commissioned by Marketing Sheffield (part of Sheffield City Council), and originally funded by the Getting Building Fund. This saw Megaverse commissioned to design and build the app, utilising the Niantic Lightship platform (of Pokemon Go fame), and Human Studio and Universal Everything to each create two pieces of artwork for it.
