Festival of the Outdoors 2025
Every March, as the days are getting longer, drier, and warmer in Sheffield, we celebrate what it means to be The Outdoor City, by hosting the Festival of the Outdoors.
You'll find everything from large-scale international sporting events to small community gatherings; from guided walks to some of the worlds hardest bouldering problems; outdoor markets to film festivals.

Battleship Potemkin
A technical masterpiece, and Soviet cinema at its finest, don't miss the screening of this influential and visionary piece of cinema with the original soundtrack performed live by Ensemble 360, to mark the film’s centenary year.
Schumann & Ravel: Mother Goose
This afternoon concert begins with the ‘Mother Goose’ Suite. Ravel’s delightful, whimsical work sets fairytales to music, performed here in a chamber arrangement.
Gary Barlow - Songbook Tour
The Songbook Tour 2025, will see Gary play 41 dates around the UK, including two nights here in Sheffield on 19 & 20 May, giving his fans a unique opportunity to see him perform his biggest hits in an intimate setting.
Appalachian Spring
Members of the celebrated Elias Quartet join forces with their friends and former colleagues in Ensemble 360 for this very special concert.
Nish Kumar - Nish, Don't Kill My Vibe
Nish Kumar – (one of The Guardian and The Telegraph’s 50 Best Comedians of the 21st Century) is back on tour with his brand new politically charged stand-up show, Nish, Don’t Kill My Vibe, with extra dates now added due to phenomenal demand.
Relaxed Concert: Appalachian Spring
For this ‘Relaxed’ concert of American music featuring Barber’s much-loved Adagio and Copland’s joyful Appalachian Spring, doors will be left open, lights raised, a break-out space provided and there will be less emphasis on the audience being quiet during the performance.
The Night Overtook Us: An Evening of Scottish Folk Music
Donald Grant, Elias Quartet violinist, is also a master of the folk fiddle. Raised in the Highlands, Donald was immersed in Gaelic song and Scottish music from an early age.

Buenos Aires Symphony of Colón Opera
The first South American orchestra to appear in the series, the prestigious Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra of Colón Opera makes a splash with this colourful and fizzy programme.
Cycles & Circles
Jasdeep Singh Degun is one of the finest exponents of the sitar and one of the most exciting musicians working today. His many collaborations with players from both Indian and western classical traditions have earned him broad audiences and many prizes, including two prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society awards in 2024.
