Part 1 of the Trees through the Seasons series of walks will be an informal walk around Graves Park, looking at trees in Winter.
The walk is suitable for beginners or those with no knowledge at all. You will learn how to identify trees via their bark types, their bud shapes and their overall canopy forms. You may wish to bring a camera and/or notepad but not at all compulsory!
Dress for the weather with sturdy outdoor footwear. Only in the case of heavy prolonged rain or severe wind will the walk be cancelled. There will be a fifteen minute break half way through the session so you may wish to bring your own drinks and snacks.
Toilets are available at the Rose Garden Cafe, which will be included on the route. The walk will not be fast paced and will involve a fair bit of standing, but there may be muddy fields and short uphill slopes.
Please email if you have accessibility needs and the organisers will adapt the walk to ensure all needs are met, eg. level surfaces, regular bench stops etc.
Free car parking is available in the car park at the Pavillion but be aware it can fill up early.
